Responsibilities and Duties

  • Company Accounting Policies and Procedures:
    • Maintain high standards of accuracy and assure compliance with Company and other applicable policies and procedures, including but not limited to, internal controls and financial procedures as set forth by management from time to time.
    • Ensure that all sales, battery, federal excise, etc. taxes are reconciled and paid timely as to prevent penalties and interest.
    • Manage and safeguard all Company assets
    • Comply with all local, state and federal reporting requirements including sales, use, property, etc. taxes.
  • Communication and Support of Internal and External Sources
    • Prepare and provide reports, schedule or respond to requests for additional information on a timely basis to dealership management
    • Assist dealership management in running an efficient, organized dealership
    • Provide excellent customer and service and develop professional relationships both internally to fellow employees as well as externally to customers and vendors.
    • Analyze and supervise the preparation of all information for the annual CPA audit
  • Technical Accounting Duties
    • Manage the month end close process including month end entries and the preparation of both external and internal financial statements and reports.
    • Prepare and analyze dealership financial statements on a monthly basis according to dealership guidelines and time frame.
    • Interpret the financial statements and the daily operating control (abbreviated financial and operational data used by management to run the day to day operations of the company) regularly and inform the CFO of any developing negative trends.
    • Participate in the preparation of short- and long-term financial forecasts and business plans
    • Provide sales and expense analysis summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to the monthly and annual forecasts.
    • Reconcile and review the reconciliations of all general ledger accounts (i.e. bank recon, schedule recon, etc.)
  • Other duties/projects as assigned or necessary to accomplish the dealership goals.

Skills, Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration a plus
  • 5-7 years of various accounting duties (accounts payable, accounts receivable, collection, general ledger, etc).
  • Strong experience doing bank reconciliations and schedule reconciliation.
  • Excellent knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in maintaining calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail in composing, typing, proofing materials for internal and external use
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of Company personnel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple task, demands, personnel, etc.
  • Ability to manage your schedule to accomplish the duties outlined above whether during or outside standard business office hours
